Tell Her You Saw Me

From Pat Metheny's 1992 Grammy Award winning album Secret Story. This Arrangement was commissioned by The Desford Colliery Band in 2019 for a brass band festival. It is both haunting and reflective. The original version of this piece was simply a basic chord progression in 3/4 time played by a string ensemble with Pat Metheny’s melancholic improvised guitar melodies weaving around it. This arrangement is a chance for bands to show off all the tonal colours at their disposal a mixture of muted effects and with the texture enhanced by a prominent vibraphone part there is lots of detail to bring off the page. This piece also features the two baritone players as soloists.
